Questions to… the Countryside Alliance

with one comment

WHY SHOULD I BE INTERESTED IN THE COUNTRYSIDE ALLIANCE?

The Countryside Alliance ‘works for everyone who loves the countryside and the rural way of life’, however they are frequently accused as existing purely to protect he proliferation of fox-hunting. In this interview I seek to understand why rural communities feel they need a representative body to protect and support their way of life and the gulf in character between country and town. I also ask whether the high level of animal welfare in this country is have a negative effect on the economics of our farming industry and the CA sponsored plans to better educate children about rural issues.

Finally, with the Tories promising to reverse the Fox Hunting Act 2005 I sought to understand the effect the ban has had and assess the argument that says that ‘the act was nothing about animal welfare, it was all about class warfare’.

  1. Please take ten minutes to read this story from a huntsman who later found his conscience. It shows you the harsh reality and cruelty of hunting that we hear everyday from farmers and other rural people who do not feel that the Countryside Alliance represents them in any way at all. http://www.huntinginquiry.gov.uk/evidence/pellow.htm

Then take a look at the human cost of the hunts. This fim is being made by rural people who have had enough of the destruction and damage and the extreme arrogance of the hunts. http://www.aminoritypastime.net

Then take a look at our campaign website and decide for yourself.
